Following the arrest of Funke Akindele by the NCDC over throwing a house party on her birthday with her husband, Bello, and other celebrities like Naira Marley and JJC, which was a violation of the restriction order of the Lagos State Government over the spread of Covid-19, some Nigerians have come out on social media to demand for the arrest of Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church a.k.a Winners Chapel.
This came up because the minister held a Sunday service at the headquarters in Ota, Ogun State after a couple of cases of Covid-19 was confirmed in Nigeria.
However, the NCDC are not considering the minister of the gospel. In fact he even donated some ambulances to the NCDC to help in the fight against Covid-19. It is important that you know that this is not the reason why he is not being arrested.
Here are some reasons why Bishop David Oyedepo does not deserve to be arrested like Funke Akindele;
1. Bishop David Oyedepo’s church (LFC) is in Ogun State not Lagos State.
2. The stay at home restriction law at that time was only effective in Lagos State, not Ogun.
3. Funke is in Lagos State. In fact, she is an NCDC ambassador.
