A Nigerian woman has recounted how a pregnant woman in labour kept begging her husband to borrow her money to pay for a cesarean section (CS).
The lady, identified as Arinola, shared this story in reaction to an X user who shared how her uncle requested a refund of the money he paid for his wife’s CS.
She wrote,
“My uncle told my aunt “Pay me back the 20k I used to complete the hospital bills. It’s not me that told you to deliver through CS.”
Emphasis on complete, the money she had wasn’t enough.”
In response, Arinola disclosed that a woman who was beside her in the labour ward repeatedly begged her husband to lend her money for CS, promising to refund the money but he refused.
According to her, she met the woman in the hospital and still left her there after giving birth to her own child.
She tweeted,
“The woman that was beside me in the labour ward when I had my daughter kept shouting “Taiwo (Her husband) please borrow me the money for the CS, I promise I’ll give it back to you” She had been in labour since the day before. I met her there and I left her there.”
