A young Nigerian man has been captured on tape setting all his educational certificates on fire as a result of frustration with unemployment in the country.
The graduate said there is no essence in having the certificates because he struggles for job with people that do not have any education.
He showed off his laminated university documents, primary and secondary school certificates as well as National Youth Service, NYSC discharge certificate.
He said that since he graduated 13 years ago, he has been struggling to get a job in Nigeria, and if illiterates are getting better opportunities than him in the country, then the certificates are useless.
The young man could be seen using a lighter to set fire to the documents and advised people to enrol their wards into skill acquisition programmes instead of sending them to school.
He expressed hope that his action will give him closure because he has been unable to sleep for days. According to him, since 2010 when he graduated, he has not used his certificate to get a job.
