Popular Nigeria pop artiste, Azeeze fashola, aka Naira Marley, has opened up on conditions that must be met, before any label could sign him.
The “Opotoyi” singer disclosed this during an interview obtained by Tontrends, where he highlighted the conditions.
The interviewer asked if the “Tesumole” singer would accept being signed by a record label. The singer in his response said and we quote:
“Is not as if I don’t want a label, but i got to choose what i have to do, i don’t want one that will tell me what to do. so any label that have to sign me, might have to sign my agreement.”
So its different. Obviously, if you are going to control me, you gonna be able to afford me. If you put $5m down, then you can tell me what to do, you get it”. Marley added jokingly.
Naira advised upcoming artistes to be themselves, no matter how long it take, their music will be accepted, and the rest will be history.
In Fashola’s words:
“Do you, if you think your sound is not really doing it, just keep given it to them, with time they will get use to it, once they get use to your sound, anything you drop is a banger, you already know.”
