“Myself and Rema are the two leading [Afrobeats] artists of our generation” – Fireboy DML

Nigerian singer, Adedamola Adefolahan also known as Fireboy DML, has explained why he and his colleague, Rema, decided to collaborate instead of beefing as expected by fans.

The ‘Vibration’ crooner said they are the two leading Afrobeats artistes in their generation and the decision work together is because they are “advanced”.

Speaking in an interview with Ebro on Apple Music, Fireboy said; “Myself and Rema are the two leading [Afrobeats] artists of our generation. We came together and realised that instead of giving the fans what they want which is beef, let’s collaborate.

Because we are too advanced for this stuff. We didn’t even give them a club banger, we made proper music. We have five more collaborations.”

Meanwhile, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, known professionally as Oxlade earlier revealed that there are some songs by his colleagues that he wishes he sang.

The ‘Ku Lo Sa’ crooner while speaking in a recent interview with Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos, said he wishes he sang ‘You’ by Omah Lay and ‘King’ by Fireboy DML.

Oxlade stated that Fireboy is his best friend but he really wanted to be the one who owns those songs, and believes that he would drop impressive vocals on Omah Lay’s You.

He said; “The song I wish I sang that I really wish I sang… They are two actually. There is ‘You’ by Omah Lay. I feel like I would murder that song with vocals.”
