Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Uchenna Nnanna, has urged unmarried individuals to make sure they prepare themselves adequately before tying the knot.

The thespian revealed that most of her friends got married before her, but it did not bother her, rather when she finally settled down, she did it at her own time.

Speaking in an interview with The Punch, Uchenna noted that it was important to seek God’s guidance before taking such an important leap in life.

According to the movie star, the abovementioned decisions she took before finally saying ‘I Do’ are why she is currently enjoying her marriage.

She also dished advice to people seeking to marry their loved ones, and emphasised that women must observe the man they intend to marry, how he treats people and vice versa as that will give them an idea of the way he will be towards her.

On the part of men, Nnanna said they must look at how their woman treats beggars and random children, to know if she will be a good wife and mother

The actress said; “People are not being prepared for marriage, and they are not defining what they want. Are you getting married because your mates are getting married? Or are you getting married because you feel you are ready for it? Most of my friends got married before me, but I got married at my own time, and today, I am enjoying my marriage.

“It is important to seek the face of God before getting married. For the females, they should watch their partners. How does he treat his sisters, and his mother? That will tell you how he will treat you.

“For the men, they should observe the way the lady they want to get married to treats others, and even beggars on the street? How does she treat children running around around your compound?

“Those are the things that will tell you the kind of person she is. It will be hard for a man who treats his sisters and mother well to hurt one. When one is married to a kind partner, there will always be a way to sort things out when there is crisis.”
