Moment Uduak Akpan, murder of Iniubong Umoren reportedly attempted to strangle a lawyer after he was sentenced to death (VIDEO)

Uduak Akpan, the man who killed Iniubong Umoren, is rumored to have become pretty upset in the courtroom after receiving the death penalty.

A high court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, sentenced the young man to death by hanging today, August 4, for raping and murdering the 24-year-old job seeker in 2021.

Prior to her NYSC program, Iniubong Umoren, a Second Class (Upper Division) graduate of philosophy from the University of Uyo, departed in search of a job but never came back.

In a tweet, investigative journalist David Hundeyin claimed that when he spoke with the deceased’s sister Ifiok, she revealed that Uduak Akpan resisted handcuffing and attempted to strangle one of the courtroom attorneys after the sentence was read.

Nonetheless, he was overwhelmed by some prison officials. The moment Uduak Akpan struggled with the prison warders can be found below;

“Just came off the phone with Ifiok, Ini Umoren’s sister who was at the court today.

She said that after his verdict and sentence was read out, Uduak Akpan resisted handcuffing and tried to strangle one of the lawyers in the courtroom before he was overpowered.”
