Veteran Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has declared that Real Madrid are the world’s biggest football team in the world.
In a recent edition of his Obi One podcast, co-hosted by Chris McHardy, Mikel insisted that the Spanish capital giants are by far, the biggest club, without considering his former team Chelsea.
“We are in Madrid, Spain, the home of Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world. I think so,” Mikel stated.
When McHardy referenced Chelsea, Mikel was unwavering in his stance. “Tell me who else is the biggest? They’ve won way more than Chelsea,” he argued.
Mikel, who spent over a decade at Chelsea and was part of their 2012 Champions League-winning squad, noted Real Madrid’s unparalleled success in European football.
The Spanish club has won a record 15 Champions League titles, including their latest victory over Borussia Dortmund last season.
This is in contrast with Chelsea’s record of two, for the prestigious title.
