Man tricks his family and friends at his own funeral

A funeral prank that had a deceased grandfather talking from beyond the grave left mourners howling with laughter.

Video footage of the funeral in Ireland shows those in attendance at the grave laughing along with the clever prank.

It was pulled off by Shay Bradley, a father-of-four and grandfather-of-eight from Kilnamanagh, south Dublin, who passed away last week after a long illness.

But rather than have his friends and family filled with tears at his grave, Mr Bradley had planned an incredible prank.

A video posted on Facebook by his daughter, Andrea Bradley, showed how mourners in Bohernabreena Cemetery gathered at the open grave, which contained Mr Bradley’s coffin.

Then Mr Bradley’s voice can be heard, shouting: “Hello?”, followed by the sound of knocking on wood and a scream of “Let me out!”

Initially, some of the mourners look shocked that Mr Bradley is apparently talking to them from beyond the grave, but they soon realise his voice is playing in a prerecorded message through a speaker.

They all break into laughter as Mr Bradley’s voice says: “It’s dark in here.”

He adds: “Let me out. Where the am I? Is that  priest I can hear? I can hear you! I’m in the box.”

She said: “It was his dying wish that we played this at his funeral. What a man, to make us all laugh when we were incredibly sad. He was some man for one man. Love you forever Poppabear.”

On Twitter, his granddaughter, Chloe Kiernan, also posted the clip, writing: “My grandad wanted everyone leaving his funeral with a smile on his face and that’s exactly what he got, I’m so proud.”

She added: “Never a day went by he wasn’t cracking a joke or have a smile on his face no matter the circumstances.”
