The Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party has advised the 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to seek another political platform for the 2027 elections. The faction, recently affirmed as authentic by the Court of Appeal in Edo, is already searching for a new presidential candidate.
Spokesman Abayomi Arabambi emphasized that Obi should not waste time pursuing an appeal against Tinubu’s victory in the Supreme Court, suggesting that Obi had mismanaged human resources and should explore other parties like APGA.
Obi’s campaign council dismissed the faction’s threat, asserting that they don’t hold authority over the party.
The LP National Legal Adviser, Kehinde Edun, pointed out that the Abure faction, recognized by INEC, holds the legitimate leadership of the party, dismissing the Apapa faction as impostors.
