The kidnappers of four children, including a toddler, in Kaduna have lowered their ransom demand from N300 million to N25 million.
The children were abducted last Tuesday night from their home in Keke A, Chikun Local Government Area, while their father, Adamu Yunusa, was visiting his wife, who was caring for their sick twins in a nearby hospital.
The abductors initially contacted Yunusa, demanding N300 million and threatening to kill the children if the ransom was not paid. They also threatened the life of the toddler, who is about two years old, for crying during the ordeal.
However, in a recent development, the kidnappers reduced the ransom to N25 million, but Yunusa has stated that he is still unable to meet the demand.
“They have reduced the ransom from N300 million to now N25 million. So we are still negotiating. I spoke to two of the children yesterday (Sunday) and they told me they are well. May God ease our pains,” Yunusa told Daily Trust on Monday, December 2.
The children have been in the kidnappers’ custody since the abduction, and their father continues to negotiate with the captors, hoping for a peaceful resolution.
