The two officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), kidnapped on Monday, have been released.
The two officials, identified as Abioye and Bayegunmi, were kidnapped at Iwajara in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State by unknown gunmen.
The kidnappers on Tuesday morning demanded N1 million ransom.
The officers were freed late on Tuesday.
It is not clear if payment was made for their release or not.
Their release was confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES by the agency’s spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, on Wednesday.
When contacted, Mr Kazeem confirmed the release of the duo. “They have been released,” said Mr Kazeem in his short message.
He said the agency would provide more details of the release later.
Kidnapping for ransom has plagued many states across Nigeria despite the efforts of security agencies.
Meanwhile, security agencies have apprehended dozens of kidnappers in different states in the past month.
