Popular Nigerian actor Kevin Ikeduba has voiced his frustration after an uncomfortable experience at a restaurant.
Speaking in a video, the actor noted many people view celebrities as gods or superheroes who should not be seen in certain locations.
This unrealistic expectation, Ikeduba believes, can be suffocating and intrusive.
The actor, who was simply trying to enjoy Amala at a restaurant, was recognized by several people who promptly pulled out their phones to record him.
Ikeduba was taken aback by this reaction, wondering why people felt the need to video him simply because he was buying Amala.
His frustration stems from the fact that celebrities are often denied the opportunity to live normal lives.
He stressed that celebrities should be allowed to live freely, without being constantly hounded by fans and paparazzi.
Ikeduba further demanded to know the rationale behind him being filmed asking if he isn’t allowed to eat as a celebrity.
He said in part:
“Celebrity is just a title, we have our personal lives. more than five people bring phones to video me, why them dey video me, because I come buy Amala?” he asked.
