A journalist, Ifeanyi Okali Fakzy, and his wife have welcomed their first child after 11 years of childlessness.
The media executive announced the birth of his baby girl on his Facebook page and shared some heartwarming photos.
One of the images shows the proud father wiping tears from his eyes as he could not contain his happiness.
Okali, who is the director of ABN TV expressed deep gratitude to God, family, friends and well-wishers.
He wrote; “I am glad that after 11 years, God has graciously blessed my family in a special way. We have just welcomed a baby girl and our very first child since our marriage in 2012.
“My wife and I can now be called ‘parents’, having suffered tantrums and mockery in the past agonising one decade and more. God still answers prayers. May His name be praised.”
The new dad added; “NOTE OF GRATITUDE!! I lack words to express my depth of gratitude to friends, colleagues and family members who have identified with me at this moment of joy in my family.
Your calls and messages have continued to come in quick succession as you join myself and my wife to welcome our bundle of joy, who arrived just yesterday after 11 years of our marital union. Your own joy shall not elude you. Your own bundle of joy, in whatever way and form you faithfully seek it of the Lord of Hosts shall come.
I am a testimony to the unchangingness of God whose word is His bond, whose promise of bringing joy in the morning irrespective of how long hopelessness and despondency may seem to have lasted. The arrival of our baby girl after 11 years has permanently silenced those who have questioned the existence of God in our lives.
He has demonstrated His loving kindness, I have nothing to say but to continually praise Him for turning our sorrow to joy. I and my dear wife passed through a lot within these periods but we remained faithful to each other with our faith permanently fixed in the supreme power of God who alone is the giver of all good gifts without sorrow.
We are grateful to you all for sharing in our joy. We know that the mouth that has spoken evil in your life shall speak good (Onu Kwuru Njor Ga Ekwu Nma). Keep your trust in Him and you shall not be put to shame. To those whose calls I couldn’t answer, I beg for your pardon. May God’s name be praised!”
