A video has captured Nigerian primary school pupils’ excitements after their new prefects were announced on the school assembly.
In the video, the pupils were seen praying hard and hoping that the new prefects elected favor them as one of their teachers climbed on the school pulpits and began to call names of the senior pupils who will lead effectively in their administrative area.
It appeared that the primary school ran small election amongst the learners following their reactions when the winners names were announced.
The female teacher kickstarted by calling out the new social prefect female and the whole student shouted with joy and happiness, showing that they are pleased with the new prefect governing over them.
She continued to mention the school monitors and the pupils could not stop clapping their hands joyfully.
What captured the attention of many online was when the teacher announced their new head girl. The assembly room was filled with anxiety with the pupils jubilating silently as if they had known their new senior girl.
Immediately she mentioned the head girl’s name, everyone including the other prefects announced, jumped into joy and excitements.
The video showing the students expressed their joy during the announcement of the winners in the primary school election captivated many online. Social media users called out the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to learn from the pupils. Some reactions are shown below:
