In 2001, I came to Benue and made the Fulani sign a peace accord with their brothers Tivs – Atiku

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has promised the people of Benue State that he will make sure that peace is restored in the state of elected as the next president of the country.

While speaking, the former Vice President of the country recalled how he visited Benue State in the year 2011 and made the Fulanis and the Tiv people in Benue State to sign a peace accord, assuring them that he will do the same if elected as president.

Atiku Abubakar made this disclosure during the PDP presidential campaign rally in Benue state, stating it clearly that he will bring insecurity to an end in Benue and ensure that there is peaceful co-existence between Fulani and Tiv communities in the state.

Atiku Abubakar said: “……In 2001, I came to Benue and made the Fulanis sign a peace accord with their brother Tivs, I will come and make sure peace returns to Benue State….”

Furthermore, Atiku Abubakar made it known that he will ensure that people freely go to farms without fear of losing their lives and make Benue state the food basket of the nation the state is known for.

In addition, he promised to employ unemployed young men and women, noting that the problem of unemployment will be a thing of the past if he becomes President.
