Popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, recently urged the Nigerian government to establish more entertainment venues across the country during a public event.
Singer Davido, the “Unavailable” hitmaker made this known after attending the Elevate Africa event in Abuja a few weeks ago graced by big names in society.
Speaking while on stage at the event, Davido-born David Adeleke said that he is tired of performing at the Eko Hotels and Suites as there is a need for more venues to be provided across the states just like the way it is being done in the foreign countries like, USA, Netherland, France, UK, and others.
According to Davido, he booked the over 20k capacity Maddison Square Garden some years ago but those in charge of the New York venue refuses to sell it to him not because he can’t afford to pull the crowd but because they were happy with the fact that 20k-30k African audience will attend the show.
Davido at the event said that Afrobeats is now global stressing that the owners of New York City’s Madison Square are the ones looking for top artistes like him from Africa.
Earlier this year, singer Davido joins the likes of Wizkid and Burna Boy as he shutdown the Madison Square Garden in New York with an electrifying performance.
Davido added that he has performed across every state in the United States of America as big as the country is but he has not done that in his own country, Nigeria as he would like to tour the whole country.
