Nigerian indigenous singer, Olawale Olofooro, popularly known as Brymo has sparked reactions online following his comments on musician, Tiwa Savage’s hit song ‘Men are crazy’, featuring Simi.
The track ‘Men are crazy’ marks the first standalone collaboration between Tiwa Savage and Simi, making waves across all music streaming platforms.
Lyrically, the song clearly explores the complexities of romantic relationship. Lines like ‘Men are crazy, but I still want one in my bed’ try to express the mixed feelings and contradictions often linked with romantic relationships.
However, the song lyrics triggered Brymo’s response as he took to his Instagram page, questioning Tiwa Savage on her intentions behind the music.
He asked if the ‘Somebody’s son’ hit maker meant to use reverse psychology on her music lovers to promote her song.
According to the ‘Ara’ crooner, it is very rare for male singers to sing degrading songs about women.
He wrote, “Hey @tiwasavage.. I’d like to know the thoughts behind the .. “men are crazy” line… because it’s the one thing boys say most in private spaces about your gender, and none of us ever made a song exclusively about how deranged y’all are….. Yet you did with Simi, and you are the first of both that I am seeing post from since then… “
“so I ask did you play reverse psychology on us, and making the song a projection.. and gaslighting the shit out of me by that??? … or you have real reasons to say so ??… and if it be the latter, expand it for me, please!!.”
