“I was going to be a regular guy until I found myself in the studio” – Fireboy DML


Afropop superstar, Adedamola Adefolahan popularly known as Fireboy DML has opened up about how different his life could have turned out had he not walked into a studio.

Fireboy was engaged in a chat with VULKAN Magazine where he touched on his inspiration to venture into music and the journey so far for him.

Fireboy disclosed that his family wasn’t really interested in music so he developed his passion for music after he listening to artists like Elton John and Celine Dion.

He stressed that he had a different plan for himself as music was not in his itinerary at the time till he walked into the studio.

In his words: My life was probably going to end up as a regular guy’s life until I found myself in the studio one day and made my first song, Since then it’s been music for me.”

In other news, Fireboy DML recently recounted his first encounter with Olamide In a chat with OkayAfrica, he explained that their first meeting was at a hotel and they built their relationship from there which resulted in them recording a song on the first day of their encounter.

Fireboy DML and Olamide are currently in New York on their promo tour around the world.

He said: “I remember. Because that was a big moment for me. I met him for the first time in person at a hotel in Lekki. We exchanged a few words — he’s a man of few words. But I think we started recording that same day, working on the album.
