Popular stand-up comedian and professor, Helen Paul, better known as Tatafo, has stirred emotional reactions as she narrated her life story.
The 45-year-old film star is characterised by a voice range that makes her sound like a little baby . It was the ‘baby’s voice’ that catapulted her to stardom.
Recounting her life experience, Helen Paul revealed in a summit, Excellence in Leadership Conference (ELC), which held in November 2nd & 3rd.
The Esan tribe revealed that she was stigmatized because her mother birthed her as a result of rape. She disclosed how her aunties severally reminded her that she has a bad blood and none of her grandmother’s stipends should be spent on her.
She narrated how she was christened Helen and how an unknown man gave his name to her because her relatives believe she’s a stain to their family
Sharing the video on her Instagram page, Helen Paul urged her fans to press on and not be brought down by the stigma from close ones, stating she has moved from a comedian to a professor in the United States.
She wrote, “Never feel rejected, believe it to be your power force. From a comedian in Nigeria to a professor in USA. What a story! Please be alive to tell your story too. All things will work out.”
It is worth nothing that She is married to Femi Bamisile and have two sons. In 2019, She obtained her doctorate in Theater Arts from the University of Lagos, which she dedicated to her mother. In 2021, she relocated with her family to the United States
Helen Paul is now a professor and the HOD of the Arts, Music, and Entertainment department at Heart International University in the United States, while her husband holds a Doctor of Law degree.
