Former Inter Milan Director, Sandro Mazzola, has disclosed he wanted to sign Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, during the Portuguese’s time at Manchester United but his counsel was overlooked.
According to Mazzola, Inter Milan would have landed Ronaldo to San Siro for an affordable amount, but one of the club’s chiefs said the forward isn’t worth all the money.
“I wanted to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Inter Milan when he was with Manchester United and long before his move to Real Madrid.
“At the time it was an affordable amount, I proposed his name to the Nerazzurri management, but I was not listened to, and one of them, in particular, said he was not worth all that money,” Mazzola told Italian news outlet, Twikie.
Ronaldo, 35, is widely considered one of the greatest players of all time.
The former Real Madrid star has won several honours including five Ballon d’Or awards.
The forward has scored 626 goals and registered 215 assists in 836 appearances in his career so far.
