Comedian AY Makun has reacted to Seun Kuti’s claim that he called the Afrobeat singer’s daughter a dog.
Seun on Tuesday night, October 31, had a live session on social media where he expressed his disgust for AY Makun. He accused the comedian of referring to his daughter as a “dog” and said AY used his trials and tribulations to mock him. He claimed AY is a wife beater and that he has poor oral hygiene. He also said he was happy when AY’s house got burnt some months back.
In a video posted online on Thursday morning November 2, AY stated that as someone who looked for a child for 13 years, he is not one to mock a human being, let alone a child. He made reference to a skit he recorded in June where he referred to a dog as ‘Hilda’. He said he drew inspiration for the joke following the backlash Guinness Record holder, Hilda Baci and Enioluwa received after they were berated by dog lovers for eating dog meat in Cross River state.
On the claim that he has mouth odour, AY asked “Seun, have we kissed before?.” He said he has never had a close contact with Seun and wonders how the singer came to the conclusion that he has mouth odour.
He also reacted to Seun’s comment that he was happy when his house got burnt.

Reacting to the allegations, AY stated in a video that he never referred to the daughter of the artist as a dog. He explained that he uses trending issues for most of his jokes and that the video Suen referred to as the skit in which he called his daughter a dog is untrue.
According to AY, he used the Hilda Baci dog-eating issue for a skit when she was called out by a dog lover for cooking and eating dogs as a delicacy.
AY further threw a subtle shade at Seun Kuti, stating that his late father, Fella, used to mock politicians during his days as a way of creating content; hence, his style of comedian is a style he learned from the artists’ father.
