‘I love my wife more than my mother, she’s just my mother, my father is her husband not me’ – Man reveals, says investing in your woman is better than your mother

A Nigerian man has ignited widespread criticism after suggesting that men should prioritize investing in their girlfriends over their mothers.

Using his girlfriend as an example, he emphasized how leaving her to watch over his business has proven more profitable.

In a 4-minute video, @o_powersolution3 on TikTok revealed that despite his love for his mother, the faster route to success is investing on his girlfriend more.

In the video, he stated:

“Investing in your girlfriend is better than spending for your mother. Your father is the reason why your family is poor. The best thing your mother can offer you in times of struggles is emotions. Asides that, nothing else again.”

The man further argued that the financial struggles many families face are rooted in decisions made by fathers. He emphasized the need for individuals to break away from familial financial expectations to avoid perpetuating poverty.

He added:

“You will think because I am talking like this, I don’t love my mother. I love my mother, but I still love my wife and my girlfriend more than my mother. Simply because she’s just my mother. My father is her husband, I’m not.”

The comments sparked a fierce backlash, with many accusing him of undervaluing the unconditional love and sacrifices of mothers. Critics flooded his video’s comments section, calling his stance “misguided,” “insensitive,” and “disrespectful.”

In response to the backlash, @o_powersolution3 attempted to clarify his position, stating that his words were not intended to undermine his love for his mother but to emphasize the importance of building partnerships outside the family to achieve success.

Despite his clarification, the video has continued to generate intense debate on social media, with many questioning societal values and the role of parents in their children’s lives.
