Controversial Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky has appealed to Grammy award-winning artist Burna Boy on behalf of singer Speed Darlington.
Recall that Speed Darlington was recently involved in a legal dispute with fellow artist Burna Boy. In October 2024, Darlington was arrested following a defamation complaint filed by Burna Boy, accusing him of cyberstalking and defamation. This arrest was reportedly linked to Darlington’s public comments questioning the legitimacy of Burna Boy’s Grammy win and insinuating undue influence from embattled American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.
After spending several days in detention, Darlington was granted bail in October 2024. However, the legal case persisted, and in December 2024, a Federal High Court in Abuja declared his detention unlawful and ordered his immediate release. Despite the court’s ruling, reports revealed that the Nigerian police refused to comply.
Bobrisky took to his Instagram page to beg Burna Boy for the immediate release of Speed Darlington out of prison. According to the crossdresser, Darlington has spent 45 days in jail, which should be enough punishment.
He made it known that prison is not a nice place to be, urging Burna Boy to temper justice with mercy.
He wrote, “I just wanna mind my business dis year and stay away from anything that connect with Nigeria celebrities. But my soft heart won’t stop me thinking of many things. Pls burna boy forgive speed. Pls prison is not a nice place. I don’t think he has money for Vip section cos it’s expensive. Pls.”
“Fans learn how to tell ur favorite the truth when they are crossing d limit. You all were applauding speeding when he was saying a lot of upleasant things to him, now none of you are in prison with him now. I don’t know burnaboy before or ever met him. I’m just human that all.”
“None of dis people I’m using my platform to stand for did d same for me when it was my time, but you know what? Our heart is different. I can’t just stand human being hurt. I pray burna pls release him 45days in prison that’s enough punishment.”
