Popular Nigerian vocal powerhouse Simi has for the first time on camera revealed how her husband singer Adekunle Gold proposed to her.
Simi, the “Duduke” hitmaker who is a mother of one was an invited guest on the “OFFTHETOP” show hosted by media personality VJ Adams.
According to Simi, her husband Adekunle Gold proposed to her 10 days to her 30th birthday in a very surprising manner even though she is a person who is hard to surprise.
Speaking on how the proposal happened on that blessed day, Simi said she and Adekunle Gold had earlier gone to a friend’s mum’s birthday party; meaning that she already had her makeup on and fully dressed with her shoes on.
However, when they got back home, she was really tired but her husband Adekunle Gold told her that his uncles were in Eko Hotel for dinner, insisting that she had to follow him.
Responding, Simi said that she could not ignore, stressing that it was an opportunity to know the family of her husband, not knowing that AG Baby wanted to propose to her.
She added that she is a person with I don’t care mentality as she would not have been on make-up but Adekunle Gold had everything planned already for that day.
Upon getting to the hotel, Adekunle insisted that she wear her heels properly and they headed on to their destination inside the hotel as her mind was already prepared to meet his husband’s uncles.
Simi uttered that while they were approaching their room alongside her friend, she noticed candles at the entrance, and at that time she kept talking about how lovely Adekunle Gold’s family was not knowing that it was a planned proposal by her hubby.
Simi concluded that upon opening the door she saw some balloons, candles, and flowers, then Adekunle Gold went on bended knees to propose to her and she accepted the proposal by saying a bold “Yes” while still in a surprised state.
