Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has claimed that he ‘definitely’ wants to play in the Premier League during his career but insists he has ‘other plans’ for now.

The Nigerian forward has been attracting several clubs in the English top-flight, with West London giants Chelsea the side closest linked with him.

It was previously reported that Chelsea were looking at Osimhen, with a summer transfer more likely than a move in the January window.

Now, talks of Osimhen potentially heading to England have arisen again after the Nigerian striker himself admitted that he aspires to play in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports about his situation at Napoli, the forward said, ‘I am happy with the president (Aurelio De Laurentiis). I have a good relationship with him. I cannot lie.

‘He has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020. I have a good relationship with his family also and for me it is always important to make sure we have this good relationship, to make sure there is nothing wrong regardless of what has happened.

‘So for me, ADL has been the kind of president who has been supportive to me outside the pitch and of course, I make sure I give my all and try to win the Scudetto for them.

‘For me, it is always important to have this kind of relationship, to be happy with the owner of the club.’

On whether he wants to play in the Premier League in the future, Osimhen said: ‘Of course one day, definitely but for now, I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to. So when the time comes, everyone knows.’

The £112m-rated striker has been a long-term target for both Arsenal and Chelsea but has committed his future to Napoli, who won the 2022-23 Serie A title.
