“I Can’t Marry Him Anymore, He is Impotent, Please Separate Us” – Woman Tells Court

A Nigerian married woman has decided to discontinue her “for better for worse” vow to her husband who she claims is impotent and cannot marry him again.

An Iseyin, Oyo State, grade “C” Customary Court, has dissolved a five-year-old marriage between Afeez and his wife, Abibat Imran on the grounds that the husband is impotent, naijapals report. The wife, Abibat Imran approached the court with full force ready to give up the man and everything in the marriage. According to her, she had done all that a wife could do to help her husband but cannot continue doing it anymore. She has endured enough and want to part ways with Afeez, her husband. Speaking at the court, she said;

“We have been together for five years. Before now, he could perform but was unable to impregnate me, but now he can’t perform at all.

“I have suffered enough in silence and now, I have to move on with my life. I desire to have another man who will be sexually active and make me a mother,” she said.

Abibat told the court that her absence in the house is as a result of her husband’s inability to fulfill her sexual desires in the house.

Poor Afeez, responded affirmative to her claims saying that, all his wife sid about him is true and he under strict medication, hoping to get back to his old ways to be able to please his wife. He said;

“I want this court to appeal to her as I have spent so much on solving this problem. I do not want her to go, please help me plead with her.

“But if she insist on dissolution, then she should bring back some of my belongings she packed along with hers when she was leaving,” she said.

Chief Adelodun Raheem, who sat on the case dissolved the marriage based on the evidence presented before him and the fact that the woman has fallen out of love with the husband.
