Ondo-based chef, Adeola Adeyeye, also known as ‘Chef Deo,’ has surpassed the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours by an individual.
Adeyeye completed a 150-hour cook-a-thon in the late hours of Thursday, July 6th 2023, beating the current record of 100 hours (93 official hours) set by chef Hilda Baci.
Chef Deo had earlier revealed that she informed Guinness World Records of her intentions and was given the approval before commencing the cooking marathon.
A large crowd gathered at the venue of the event in Ile-Oluji, the headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government in Ondo State to celebrate with her after she hit her target.
Chef Deo commended the challenge on 30th of June 2023, and concluded the on 6th of July 2023.

Her manager, Ayotunde Fagbamiye, had earlier conveyed the chef’s optimism and enthusiasm in accomplishing the task and becoming the new record holder.
He said; “Guinness World Records granted her approval to undertake the cook-a-thon. We were elated upon receiving the notification that she can proceed to break the record for an individual’s cooking marathon.
“She possesses great energy and is prepared to cook for 150 hours. Her passion and determination are evident, and I am confident she will successfully reach the end of this journey”.
