Frankincense concert to hold in Lagos


The Frankincense Concert, a classical music concert starring Nigerian born, Los Angeles-based singer, Abiodun Koya, will hold in Lagos on December 8.

The concert scheduled to hold at the Lagos Continental Hotel, will bring together the crème de la crème of society, royalties, captains of industries and commerce, as well as African leaders and art icons.

Koya, the concert convener, in a statement on Wednesday, said the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi would be the royal father of the event.

He said, “It is an initiative designed to create means of financially empowering newly released female inmates from the prison systems.”

Koya added that the proceeds from the concert would be channelled into setting up petty trades and vocational training for the women.

He said, “We will facilitate their vocational training in the areas of garment making, beauty care, soap making, catering, including baking and pastry. This initiative will create sustainable economic means of livelihood for these women as they navigate their ways into the system and the realities of life.”
