Celebrations rented the air on social media as Nigerian striker Odion Jude Ighalo grabs his first goal in a Manchester United shirt on Thursday during a UEFA Europa League Round of 32 knockout game.

Ighalo put the ball at the back of the net from close range after latching on to Juan Mata’s cut in in the book.

Ighalo while celebrating the goal went on his knees and raised his hands up to the sky. He then stood up to raise his jersey up and show an inner wear customized with a photo of his late sister.

Nigerians, as well as football fans from all over the world are happy to see Ighalo get on the score sheet for his ‘boyhood club’.

For the records, Odion Ighalo is the first African player to score Manchester United in all competitions since Eric Bailly of Cote D’Ivoire in August 2017 against Swansea in the Premier League.
