Former Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, has named the four qualities Billy Gilmour possesses after youngster’s impressive display in the Blues’ FA Cup fifth-round 2-0 win over Liverpool on Tuesday night.
According to Fabregas, the 18-year-old has a great personality on the ball, intelligence in his decision making, always making angles for offering himself and has that bit of aggression in his game.
Gilmour won the Man of the Match award as Frank Lampard’s men eliminated the Premier League leaders from the FA Cup after two goals from Willian and Ross Barkley.
When asked how he rated Gilmour’s performance, Fabregas, who now plays at Monaco, wrote on Twitter: “Fantastic personality on the ball, intelligence in his decision making, always making angles for offering himself and has that bit of aggression, which is very important, especially in the English Premier League.
“When you have the qualities but also the desire, work ethic, and the intelligence, then is when you can see real potential in a young player.
“Gilmour has all of that.”
