A former Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Evangelist Adeola Alofe, is dead.
A family source said the former Secretary to the State Government, who hailed from Ayetoro Ekiti in the Ido/Osi Council Area of Ekiti State, died after a brief illness at the age of 86.
Alofe, a former member of the House of Representatives in the old Ondo State between 1991 and 1993 on the platform of Social Democratic Party, was Ekiti State SSG between 2003 and 2005 during the administration of former Governor Ayodele Fayose and also served as Senior Special Assistant on Religious Matters to Governor Kayode Fayemi during his first term.
He was at a time a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party before he defected to the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in Ekiti State.
A statement signed by a family member said, “With total submission to the will of Almighty God, the entire Alofe family announces the passing away of our beloved brother, uncle, father and grandfather. He slept in the Lord on August 25, August 2019.
“Funeral arrangements are to be announced by the family in due course.
