The Irish Rugby’s performance director, David Nucifora will no longer be leaving with Joe Schmidt out of the exit door after the World Cup anymore. Nucifora who have been working with Schmidt since April 2014 has just extended his current contract to the end of the 2021/22 season.
David Nucifora has produced a great result in terms of dealing with the contracts of Ireland’s stars and has played a role in players movement across the province. Nucifora is partially involved in developing all aspects of the professional games in Ireland, including the elite player development pathway, the establishment of a successful 7s programme and the recruitment of Irish qualified players through IQ Rugby.
Nucifora, has also performed a similar role in his country, during a period of unprecedented success for Ireland teams, including two 6 Nations titles (2015 and 2018) and historic victories over New Zealand, Australia and South Africa for the men’s national team.
However, there has been Six Nations Grand Slam for Ireland U20s and a 2nd place finish at the 2016 Junior World Championships, a Women’s Six Nations title in 2015, qualification for both the women and men into the 7s World Series.
