The immediate past governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi has reacted after his name was included in the ministerial list sent to the 10th Assembly.
He stated that he would work with President Bola Tinubu to keep all the promises he made during his campaign.
Recall that the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio unveiled the long-awaited ministerial list from President Bola Tinubu on Thursday.
The number of names sent was 28, with no state of origin attached.
The list was delivered by Femi Gbajiabiamila, the former Speaker, House of Representatives, now Chief of Staff to the President, who entered the Chamber at 1.18p.m., and delivered the letter at 1.19p.m.
The letter was addressed to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
Umahi was among the names of nominees on the list.
Speaking on his nomination, the former governor promised to work assiduously in justifying the confidence reposed in him.
He stated this while addressing newsmen in Abakaliki after he was received by Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.
Umahi expressed his profound appreciation to Tinubu for “fulfilling his promise during the trying period”.
According to Umahi: “My governor (Nwifuru) should be happy because he wished for it.
“I will work with the president to ensure that all promises he made are kept.
“I cannot determine the particular ministry to head but I will justify the Ebonyi character of resourcefulness and exceptionality.”
