COVID-19 ; Governors Agree On 14 Days Nationwide Lockdown


Arising from the fallout of the meeting of the Nigeria Governors Forum on Wednesday, the Governors of all the 36 states of the federation has recommended a lockdown nationwide for at least two weeks to mitigate against the further spread of the novel coronavirus.

Announcing the decision, Ekiti State Governor and NGF chair, Kayode Fayemi said the decision became necessary as a result of the continued increment in number of COVID-19 infected persons.

He further stated that the governors agreed to set up committees on COVID-19 at the regional level to be led by the various state health commissioners.
