Popular Nigerian film actress, Destiny Etiko is on the receiving end of criticism from netizens, following a statement she made about her colleagues who speak in Yoruba language.
Destiny Etiko had taken to social media to share a video of herself at a movie location, while urging her colleagues who are Yoruba to stop speaking the language as a means of communicating with everyone.
She added that many Yoruba actors are used to it and it shouldn’t be. The Thespian said that they should rather speak English or pidgin language instead.
Destiny Etiko herself in the video seemingly unconsciously inserted a few words in her dialect while passing her message across.
Reacting to the post, many dragged the actress for not practicing what she preaches as she herself is guilty of inserting her dialect in every sentence she makes.
