Nigerian singer, Crown Uzama best known as Shallipopi has revealed how he believe an artiste to charge when called upon either for a show or concert performance.
Speaking on the notion that Nigerian artistes tend to charge outrageous amount of money when it comes to performance, he stated that singers are to charge according to how far their music have gone.
Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, the singer noted that an artiste’s value is linked to the success and reach of their music.
While disputing the notion that Nigerian artistes have overpriced themselves out of the local market, he emphasized that artistes who achieve similar streaming as American artistes should charge comparable fees.
He said:
“It depends on your music and where it has gotten, that is what your price is going to be.
“If your music has gotten the same stream as an American artiste, you should be charging the same way they charge but if it’s not up to that you cannot overcharge.”
