Bunmi: The lady who changed my perspective about life.

During my Youth service, I stayed in NCCF family house. There was a batch that came in before us. When it was time for them to leave, there was a particular person among them whom everyone wanted to collect something from as a reminder of what she represented to them.
I was among those who collected somethings from her. I saw some things she had touched which I was yet to touch. I connected to her in every way.
Prior to this time, everywhere I accompanied her to, I hear people say amazing things about her. I hear them talk about how she helps them, how she lives an exemplary life. I saw her give money to people who didn’t have. She even gave me transport fare to my PPA one day.
We were together in the same place of primary assignment. She worked quietly there but her works were obvious. Up till the last time I went there, they still asked of her.

Normally, when people celebrate birthdays, the highest gifts they get in family house might 10. On her birthday, I lost count of the gifts she collected. What each person talked about was how she touched their lives.

In simple terms, she walk her talk….Okay, this life amazes me and sets me on my toes. It makes me want to love God more and reveal His identity to people around by the life I live.

Sir, the last place you resided, you destroyed the lives of young girls who looked vulnerable there. People see you as a lamb, whereas you are a wolf in sheep’s clothing. In short, People took their turns in rejoicing because you were set to leave. No one felt your impact. Up till now, shame has not allowed you to pass through that vicinity.

Ma, you are a perfect description of proverbs 16:28 where you work presently: “Troublemakers start fights; gossips break up friendships”. You cause rancour among friends. What you say to this one is different from the other person. You are known to spread gossips like flu.

Do you remember the day you were leaving that lodge? You were begging people to take selfie with you. The only person who honoured your invitation did it out of pity. This was because you lived a double life there.

If you are leaving the place you are presently, what will people say of you?
Will people jump for joy because a troublemaker is leaving?

Will people be able to say you have touched their lives in every possible way?
Peradventure you even decide to give out your things as a memento to people, will people not stylishly leave you to your things since you have nothing good to be remembered for?

Did I remember to tell you that the lady in question in this post was not an executive? Yet she touched lives. Don’t wait till you become a leader before you start to influence people around you.

Listen friend, it is not only that personal evangelism period that people should know you as a Christian. It should be your lifestyle even at work. It doesn’t speak well that you are a saint in church but a whore at work.

It’s not about just talking to others Christ with your mouth alone. Your actions must justify your talk.

“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage”. Matthew 5:13

Can I remind you once again that you are the light of the world? How will you live as light that you are if you don’t even know who you are? Shine the LIGHT at work. In the street. In your compound. Shine it everywhere you find yourself.
