Big Brother Naija 2021 star, Boma Akpore, has opened up on how the reality show gave him fame in Nigeria and on the global scene.
Boma, who has starred in Hollywood blockbusters like The Blackl!st, and Brooklyn Coven, said he became a household name after participating in Big Brother.
The 36-year-old bemoaned how one can be talented, yet his worth won’t be acknowledged if he is not well known.
The actor who had a chat with journalists at the just concluded AMAA award in Lagos, said the popular show opened doors for him.
He said; “Participating in BBNaija gave me fame. You could be talented, and people wouldn’t still know your worth.
But BBNaija made me a household name in the entertainment industry. It made it easier for people to connect and know what I do for a living.”

Ace Nigerian singer, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly called Omah Lay revealed that his sudden rise to fame affected his mental health.
The ‘Soso’ crooner said at the initial stage it was challenging, but he started getting comfortable with the reality of being a celebrity and began to move at his own pace.
Omah Lay said: “At first I struggled, and it put me in a bad mental state because I was still trying to learn my ways.
“However, with time, I got comfortable and learned that I should move at my own pace. As soon as I realised that, I became much stronger and began to enjoy my life more.
“If I can put my vulnerabilities in my song, then I can talk about them. My music is all about my real life experiences, and I know the world is listening to it.”
