It was indeed of Journey of no return as Laycon stepped into the Big brother Naija house 10 weeks ago in a Christmas light bulb outfit.
Of course, he was looked down on and People probably thought he won’t last a day in the BBN house. In fact, at the beginning of the show, he was called a drug addict who was missing his drugs with the way he looked, in the eyes of many, he stood no chance in winning the show.
He trended on the first day but it wasn’t for a good reason, People mocked his Christmas light outfit but as they say, who God has blessed, no one can curse.
His journey wasn’t the easiest of them all, he went through an emotional downside as he was rejected by the supposed love of his life, Erica and it got really intense at some points as he was insulted and humiliated by her.
But none of these stopped him, seeing his resilience, the unknown rapper who started on Instagram with barely 4k followers on Instagram has gotten himself an army of faithful fans who call themselves Icons. He is currently 1.2 million followers strong of Instagram, more than any other season 5 housemate.
But that’s not all, the “small boy” made it to the top 5 housemates after a long run.
Tension filled the room as gradually, a housemate was evicted from the house until two housemates were left.
Performances from Rema and fireboy was used to at least reduce the tension.
Vee was the first to be evicted amongst the final 5 housemates, followed by Neo, then Nengi.
The tension rose really high that Dorathy had to lay down. And finally, to the Joy of millions of Icons across the country, Laycon has been announced the winner of the season 5 lockdown edition of BBN.
Congratulations to Laycon, rapper, president of millions of Icons, and season 5 BBN winner.
We await his greatness beyond the BBN House.
We also use this medium to thank all the housemates and Ebuka for being a wonderful host.
