Yobe State Governor, Mai-Mala Buni has been appointed by the National Working Committee of the All progressives Congress as Returning Officer for the Bayelsa State 2019 governorship primary election
The primary election was originally scheduled for Thursday 29th August 2019 but shifted to Saturday 31st August 2019.
The appointment of Buni, who was a former National Secretary of the party, was contained in a letter signed by the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
A statement on Thursday by the spokesman of the governor, Mallam Abdullahi Bego said following the governor appointment, he will be travelling to Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital on Friday 30th August 2019 in time for the primary election on Saturday.
He said the governor will be returning to office in Damaturu on Monday 2nd September 2019 at the end of his assignment.
