The Ikorodu Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos State has approved a request for Wunmi, the widow of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, famously known as Mohbad, to receive notification of the pending DNA test application through alternative channels.

The directive was issued following the Aloba family’s legal team, led by Emmanuel Oroko, experiencing multiple unsuccessful attempts to personally serve Wunmi.

Monisola Odumosu, a member of the family’s legal team, explained in a statement that they petitioned for approval to deliver all legal documents to Wunmi’s last known address.

Joseph Aloba, the father of the deceased singer, has initiated the application, aimed at advancing the DNA testing procedure.

“If the process were served on the last-known address of the respondent by Order of the Court, it would constitute good service and she would be aware of the pending suit. The Chief Magistrate granted the order and ordered that the respondent be served by posting the court process on her last known address.

“It will be recalled that the Aloba family is contesting the paternity of baby Liam and filed an application before the Family Court wherein it sought an order of the court against Wunmi to present herself and baby Liam for a DNA test at any recognised laboratory in Lagos,” the statement quoted Odumosu as saying.

The statement referred to the singer’s wife, who, in a viral video, expressed her readiness for a DNA test, emphasizing that she had never been available for the court sheriff to serve her the originating motion.

In response, Wunmi’s lawyer, Taiwo Olawanle, denied knowledge of the court order. However, Olawanle assured that once they receive the court order, compliance from Wunmi wouldn’t pose any issue.
