Nigerian content creator, Yemi Elesho, has claimed that Afrobeats singer, Asake’s old-time friends are complaining that he’s stopped replying to their messages.
He made the revelation in an interview with The Echo Room, said Asake’s friends from his days as a struggling artiste are disappointed with him for abandoning them.
Elesho, however, implied that he understands because the music star is now big and the kind of people he mingles with are in a different class.
The skit-maker who attended the same university with Asake, claimed that the singer couldn’t afford accommodation throughout his four years at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as he was accommodated by friends.
He said since hitting stardom, it was natural for Asake to snub some of his “old friends” as he could not possibly carry all of them along.
Elesho said; “Asake is big and a lot of his friends are complaining that he doesn’t reply their direct messages, but me I no send am DM because I know say e no go reply. E don big!
“The kind of people he mingles with is different, he’s big already. He sees new people everyday, people wey get level. Naturally he can’t carry everybody along.”
