As 250 houses progress, Kawuri village to resettle in March


The people of Kawuri village in Konduga local government are to be resettled latest March 2020, Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has said.

The Governor spoke at the village last week after inspecting 250 resettlement houses being built by the state government as permanent homes for residents of the village.

Kawuri people are currently taking refuge in Konduga, Maiduguri and Bama towns, after their village was attacked and destroyed by Boko Haram in the past.

Zulum directed that the 250 houses be speedily completed as his government plans to resettle the people latest March 2020

The Governor also ordered the rehabilitation of additional 500 houses belonging to the villagers which were destroyed by insurgents.

He assured the people of his administration’s determination to end their displacement and offer them support until their means of livelihoods is restored.
