The sensitization team visited various locations prone to the virus, such as Motor parks, social gathering spots etc, where students, motorists, commercial drivers and motorcyclists were sensitized on the importance of using face masks while in the public, medical gloves when necessary, washing of hands with soap and water often, frequent application of hand sanitizers and the consumption of immune boosting fruits and foods as prescribed by medical experts.

The team also met with the Secretary to the palace of Auchi sacred kingdom, Chief Alh Idris Yahaya to seek the palace intervention on the sudden hike in price of some medical items prescribed by medical experts for curtailing the coronavirus pandemic, such as facial masks, gloves and hand sanitizers.

Pharmacy owners who were invited for the meeting at the palace, after much engagement by the palace secretary and sensitization team, gave their reasons for the unfortunate increment, and were subsequently asked to proffer other panaceas to contain the deadly virus by the palace authorities.

The pharmacists were also told to work in collaboration with the sensitization team in educating members of the public on the global Covid-19 pandemic and preventative measures to be observed.
