“We should not forget early our performances at the last general elections. We won the presidency, we are in firm control of the Senate, we are also in control of the House of Representatives. As the chairman, the governorship candidates were selected through the participation of party members from the grassroots in most states. Oshiomhole has entrenched internal democracy, and this is worth celebrating not otherwise”.

“As it stands today, the chairman stands tall, the presence of our great party can be felt in all the six geopolitical regions of Nigeria. Of course, we lost some but that has not eroded the giant strides accomplished under the present chairman”.

The statement urged the party chairman to ignore those calling for his removal saying such people do not mean well for the party. He maintained that APC members in the United Kingdom under the leadership of Prince Ade Omole are fully behind him.

Ogunseye urged all the aggrieved members to submit themselves to the leadership of the party and fashion out a better way of settling their grievances otherwise ventilate their grievances through the party’s reconciliation committee chaired by Pa Bisi Akande.

“We can only win together; deriding the leadership of the party is tantamount to its balkanization. What we need now is unity. The leaders and the followers should embrace the olive branch from President Muhammadu Buhari and work assiduously to take the party to a new height”, the statement concluded.
