Anthony Joshua has been warned to watch DVDs of Lennox Lewis previous fights ahead of Andy Ruiz Jr rematch.
Joshua takes on Ruiz for a second time on December 7 as he attempts to win back his world titles.
The rematch will hold in Saudi Arabia Anthony Joshua, ex-heavyweight champion, has been advised to watch DVDs of former boxing champion Lennox Lewis ahead of rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr. According to the Mirror, ex-boxing champion David Haye insists the 29-year-old pugilist, must follow Lewis’ example to emerge victorious. Joshua will be keen to reclaim his heavyweight world titles on December 7 when he faces Ruiz again in Saudi Arabia.
“He (Anthony Joshua) needs to watch Lennox Lewis fights non-stop between now and fight night. “Just keep it long, do what Lennox Lewis used to do against shorter guys, keep him at the end of the jab and when he rushes in, hit him with the big uppercut or right hand. Meet 19-year-old Nigerian magician Babs Cardini who turns objects into money on Lagos street (video) “Sounds real simple because the guy is so physically inferior to him, he should be able to win seven rounds. “Aim to win the fight on points and if there’s a knockout that’s a bonus. “What you don’t want to do is stand toe-to-toe and try and get this little guy out of there. “If he can win the fight the first one will just go down as a hiccup that can happen, same as Hasim Rahman or Oliver McCall with Lennox Lewis,” Haye stressed. Interestingly, during their first bout last June in New York, Joshua was sent to the canvass four times by Ruiz before the fight was finally stopped in round seven. However, Haye, who has witnessed similar fights in the past remains upbeat Joshua can beat the Mexican-American and bounce back to the top again. “He’s a supreme athlete, a physical specimen and he can keep a fighter at long range if that’s what his plan is.
