Nigerian star striker, Victor Osimhen has urged the Super Eagles not to underrate Guinea-Bissau in their next 2023 Africa Cup of Nations fixture.
Jose Peseiro’s men will take on the Djurtus at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan next week Monday.
The match comes after the Super Eagles defeated hosts Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in their second game of the competition at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium on Thursday.
Guinea-Bissau are on the brink of elimination from the competition after defeats in their opening two games against Cote d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea. They would need to beat the Super Eagles and hope Cote’Ivoire loses, to stand a chance of qualification.
Osimhen, however, said the Super Eagles will approach the game with determination.
“We aim for a strong performance against Guinea-Bissau. They will undoubtedly approach the game with determination, and we won’t underestimate any team, considering what they’ve done to qualify,” Osimhen said after the game.
“We met them in the qualifiers and know how strong they are. They defeated us at home, while we also beat them away.
“So, we are expecting a tough game against them. We will do our best to win.”
