Abuja motorist expresses resentments over the Nigerian Army’s decision to mount a roadblock at the centre of the Abuja-Keffi Expressway inwards Abuja.
Motorists in Abuja and its environs have expressed displeasure over the decision of the Nigerian Army to mount a roadblock at the centre of the Abuja-Keffi Expressway inwards Abuja.
Talk of naija correspondent who experienced the gridlock reported that the roadblock was mounted beside the Mogadishu Barracks and has caused a traffic fuss which lasted for about five hours.
According to Nneoma our correspondent, the traffic started from Nyanya-Keffi road through the Murtala Mohammed Expressway to the Goodluck Jonathan Expressway.
Though the Nigerian Army has failed to respond to all inquires on the reason for the gridlock, Motorist however, wondered if it was a temporary measure as others lamented that there was no prior notice.
According to Mojisola, a motorist, “It was a traffic jam that led to some people going back home while some cars broke down on the road, i left home around 7:30am and this is 10:45am i’m still yet to be at work.”
Another affected individual said, “i’m used to it because it is part of Nyanya-Abuja calender, but what i dont understand is why are soldiers searching the boots of all the vehicles passing the road, abi bomb threat dey”.
