Former Nigerian presidential aide, Reno Omokri has asserted that a poor person should never have pride in him.

The renowned author made this known in a recent post he made on his verified social media handle on the popular social media platform, Twitter.

According to him, a poor person should never have pride, but it does not mean poor folks shouldn’t have self esteem.

He went on to explain that having self esteem is not pride because you are poor does not mean you should look down and tremble before the rich.

The post he made reads;

“A poor person should never have pride. But it does not mean poor folks shouldn’t have self esteem. Having self esteem is not pride. Because you are poor does not mean you should look down and tremble before the rich. That is stupidity, not humility.”

Here are some reactions the post got below;

@adunfejosh – What a great piece. Rather, it’s better for the poor to break the jinx of poverty before it’s too late and internet has really made this easy and possible. Check my pinned tweet to know more.

@OJOBODO1 – Sir I want you to tweet more about a more pressing issue right now
Which is hunger and it’s driven by insecurity which the govt have refused to attend to
